Special Circular – Trade Description Ordinance

<table class=" acchk-responsive-table" border="0"><tbody><tr><td><div><br />Hong Kong International Jewelley Show together with the Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem &amp; Pearl Show forms the largest jewellery marketplace in  the  world, it is important that Exhibitors reflect the ethical and professional image of the event.<br /><br />Exhibitors should ensure to present their exhibits in a proper manner with detailed information of the products for example, any synthetic or treated gems or diamonds or pearls must be shown clearly in showcases, on the invoices or product tags.   Invoices issued to the buyers should contain detailed information including but not limited to the date of purchase, quantity, price, fineness of the precious metal, carats of diamonds/gems, whether the stones are natural or synthetic and/or any other written particulars as required under the laws of Hong Kong, in order to comply with the law and avoid misunderstandings or complaints.  The Organiser will have the absolute right to permanently terminate the Exhibitor's right to exhibit in the exhibition and to ban the exhibitor from participation in all future events organised by the HKTDC if they failed to comply with the rules.<br /><br />If necessary, exhibitors and buyers can also make use of the charged testing services offered by the exhibitors under the Testing and Certification Services Zone.<br /><br />For more information on Trade Description Ordinance, please visit the<br />link: <a style="text-decoration: underline;" href="http://www.customs.gov.hk/en/faqs/consumer_protection/trade_desc/index.html">http://www.customs.gov.hk/en/faqs/consumer_protection/trade_desc/index.html</a><br /><br />Thank you for your attention and wishing you every success at the Fair.<br />Hong Kong Trade Development Council</div></td></tr></tbody></table>
